White screen
A full white screen to clean your display or test for dead pixels
01
What a white screen is for
This page fills your display with pure white and nothing else. A bright, even surface makes dust, smudges and streaks easy to see while you clean a monitor or laptop screen. It also turns the display into a soft, even light source, for example to light your face on a video call or to trace a drawing through paper.
Click anywhere to switch to fullscreen, and press Esc or click again to leave. The hint and the back button fade after a few seconds and return when you move the mouse. The page runs in your browser and asks for no permissions. To check for dead or stuck pixels, use the Dead pixel test, which cycles through nine colors.

White screen FAQ
- How do I use a white screen to clean my monitor?
- Open this page in fullscreen to see where the dust and smudges are, then turn the monitor off before you wipe it. Use a dry microfiber cloth, and dampen it slightly with water only if marks remain. Check the manufacturer's care guide before using any cleaning spray.
- Can I use my screen as a light for video calls?
- Yes. Open the white screen on a second monitor or a laptop placed near your face, set the brightness high and go fullscreen. The even white light fills in shadows. It is weaker than a ring light, so it is most useful in a dim room.
- How do I go fullscreen and exit again?
- Click anywhere on the page to go fullscreen, and press Esc or click again to exit. If the back button has faded, move the mouse and it reappears. Some phones, such as iPhones, do not let web pages go fullscreen, so the browser bars stay visible.
- Does the white screen page collect anything?
- No. The page only paints the screen white and asks the browser for fullscreen when you click. It does not use your camera, microphone or files, and nothing you do on it is sent anywhere. Like every page on this site, it counts an anonymous page view.
