What the mouse test checks

This test checks each part of your mouse in one place. Click areas count left, middle and right clicks and show how long you held the button. The scroll test counts wheel steps up, down, left and right. A double-click area shows whether double-clicks register, and a drag area checks that the button holds while you move. Cursor position and speed update live.

The click speed test counts how many times you click in 5 seconds and shows your clicks per second (CPS). The right-click menu is turned off inside the test areas so every button can be tested. Everything runs in your browser, and clicks are counted in this tab only.

Mouse test FAQ

Why does my mouse double-click when I click once?
Usually the switch under the button is worn: as its contacts wear, one press bounces and registers as two clicks. To check, click the left button area slowly about ten times. If the counter sometimes rises by two, the switch is at fault. If only the double-click area misbehaves, check the double-click speed in your system settings.
What is a good CPS score?
Most people reach somewhere around 5 to 8 clicks per second with normal clicking. Scores above about 10 CPS usually come from techniques such as jitter or butterfly clicking. Your result also depends on the mouse switch, your grip and fatigue, so compare runs on the same mouse.
How do I test my scroll wheel?
Scroll slowly in one direction and watch the counter. Each notch should add a step in the matching direction. If the down counter rises while you scroll up, or the count jumps or skips, the wheel sensor may be dirty or worn. Tilt the wheel, or use a horizontal scroll, to test left and right.
Are my clicks and movements recorded?
No. Clicks, scrolls and cursor movements are counted in this browser tab to update the counters. They are not logged, stored or sent to a server, and they reset when you click Reset all or close the page.
